from New York City,
GABE ABELSON
was the head monologue writer for
“Late Show with David Letterman”
on CBS for 4 1/2 seasons, garnering
four Emmy Awards and three Writer’s Guild nominations.
After his tenure with Letterman, Gabe and his family
relocated to the West Coast where he was a staff writer
at network shows including
“Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher” (ABC),
"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (NBC),
“The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn” (CBS)
and served as the producer / head writer for
“The New Tom Green Show” (MTV).
Gabe is currently developing an animated feature
in conjunction with producer Jason Koornick (“Next”),
Universal Press Syndicate and Andrews McMeel publishing.
In addition to his career in television and movie writing,
Gabe is an accomplished stand-up comedian and actor.
He has appeared on shows such as
“Late Night With Conan O’Brien”,
“The MTV Half-Hour Comedy Hour”
“Caroline’s
Comedy Hour”,
and in numerous national commercials.
